Web standards = Quality
SUMMARY: Web standards are under the hood voodoo and it’s the job of your website designer to understand and use them. They have a huge impact on the success of your website especially in search engines, how fast it loads, it’s long term viability.
I suppose it’s the equivalent of an ISO 9001 for web standards.
What exactly are web standards?
The World Wide Web Consortium are the self-appointed guardians of HTML (the code behind a website) and a friend of theirs is Google. I can’t stress this enough: validation of your website by W3C is massively important and is worth it’s weight in gold in terms of how Google regards your website and it’s long term viability.
